Sharing Pest & Disease Data

You are able to share pest and disease (PD) data between councils/other organisations through Forestree. Data sharing is reciprocal, i.e. if you are sharing the data with someone, they can also their data for that PD. Currently data sharing is only available for system PDs. This is an opt-in feature and no clients are required to use it.

What is shared

When you share data for a PD, the following things are visible to the organisation you are sharing data with:

  • the location and severity of each infected tree
  • the location and severity of each tree inspected and showing 'no sign'
  • the location and severity of each trap
  • the location and severity of each monitoring area
  • the location and susceptibility of each susceptible tree
  • an indicator on each point if it has work or an inspection scheduled
  • an indicator on each point if it is a significant tree

How to share

You will need the 'share code' from the council/organisation you are sharing data with. See getting your share code. You will also need to be a superadmin of your organisation.

Navigate to the Pests and Diseases section of the dashboard. Find the system PD you want to sahre and click 'manage sharing'

You can then enter the share code of the organisation you are sharing with.

Revoking a share

If you no longer wish to share data with an organisation, you can go to 'manage sharing' for the PD and click 'revoke' on that organisation.
